First Aid Training Course

First Aid at Work

This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three-day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. The course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

Who is the First Aid at Work course for?

This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training and is especially suited for nominated workplace first aiders looking to gain comprehensive, certified approval via our Qualification Centre.

Course Duration

Three days, minimum 18 hours classroom attendance

Assessment and Certification

Candidates will complete a number of Practical Assessments & a Multiple Choice Test Certificate and wallet card issued via our approved qualification centre, Qualsafe. However, it is recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher. This can be done online if you so wish.

First Aid Training Course

First Aid at Work Requalification

This course updates the first aid skills for people who need to renew their statutory first aid at work certificate and whose existing certificate is still valid. First aiders whose certificates have expired for more than 28 days (3 months from October 2013) must attend the three-day first aid at work course. Please note that you need to have completed this course before the 28 days (3 months from April 2013) after the expiry of your certificate.

Who is the First Aid at Work Requalification course for?

The course is for people wishing to renew a valid First Aid at Work certificate.

Course Duration

Two days, minimum 12 hours contact.

Assessment and Certification

After completing the course, successful candidates receive the approved First Aid at Work certificate and wallet card, via our qualification centre – Qualsafe, which is valid for three years.

The course aims to update, refresh and enforce your knowledge of the First Aid at Work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a final assessment.

First Aid Training Course

Paediatric & Childcare First Aid Training

This paediatric first aid course meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework. The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals, including teachers, au pairs, playgroup and nursery personnel, in fact anyone looking after infants and young children, including parents.It meets Ofsted requirements for registered child-minders and the requirements for nannies under the Approved Carers Scheme. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.

Who is the Paediatric First Aid course for?

The course is for anyone who has or works with infants and young children, or for any personnel working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.

Course Duration

12 hours contact, (can be done in 3 hourly sessions, over four week period).

Assessment and Certification

Practical assessment throughout your training & multiple-choice test. Certificate and wallet card issued via our approved qualification centre, Qualsafe. Valid for three years.

Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks. The skills covered by our emergency 1 day course vary greatly from our full 3 day course, First Aid at Work.

Who is the Emergency First Aid at Work Course for?

The course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

Course Duration

Three days, minimum 18 hours classroom attendance

Assessment and Certification

Practical Assessment throughout your training & multiple choice test. Certificate and wallet card issued via our approved qualification centre, Qualsafe.

What will you learn?

The content of this course provides basic life-saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

First Aid Training Course

AED & CPR Training Courses

In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes but the majority could be saved if their heart was shocked back into rhythm.In an ideal world an AED should be available within four minutes of someone suffering from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).We passionately believe in improving AED access and training because it has been proven to save lives. The course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and gives students the confidence to know what to do in this kind of emergency. No previous first aid knowledge is necessary to attend an AED course.

Who is this training for?

This course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency aid skills, or takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module.

Course Duration

Four hours.

Assessment and Certification

Practical Assessment throughout your training & multiple choice test. Certificate and wallet card issued via our approved qualification centre, Qualsafe. Valid for one year.

The course covers how to use an automated external defibrillator. Course content:

Activity & Sports First Aid Course

The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in outdoor and activity based environments. Successful candidates will gain the knowledge and skills needed to treat a range of conditions that could occur during any form of activity, from life threatening illnesses to minor injuries. SafeSavvy can tailor courses to match your specific situation and requirements. For example we often show how to treat a casualty who may be wearing special equipment such as helmets. We can take extra focus on those certain injuries that are most likely to occur and ensure you have an even greater understanding on how to respond if the need ever arises.

Who is the Activity First Aid course for?

This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training and is especially suited for nominated workplace first aiders looking to gain comprehensive, certified approval via our Qualification Centre.

Course Duration

Two days, minimum 12 hours classroom attendance

Assessment and Certification

Candidates will complete the relevant practical assessments throughout the course and will be asked to take a multiple-choice test at the end of the training. Your certificate and wallet card will be issued via our approved qualification centre, Qualsafe. This activity first aid qualification is valif for 3 years. However, it is recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher. This can be completed online.
